The Florida Scrub Jay

The Florida Scrub Jay is only found in central Florida because this is the only place where its habitat is found. The bird is Omnivorous. It eats acorns, seeds, peanuts, insects, tree frogs, turtles, snakes, lizards, and young mice. Bird watchers come from all around the country to observe this unique species.
Old Capitol Building

This is the Florida state capital building. It is called The Old State Capitol Building because it was founded in 1845. This building is located in Tallahassee, Florida and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The capitol building houses the Florida state senate.
Crandon Park

This is a picture of Crandon Park. The Park is owned by and operated by Miami-Dade County, Florida. The park occupies the northern part of the island of Key Biscayne, and the island lies between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. This park was one of the largest coconut plantations in the United States until William Matheson donated 808.8 acres of it to the Miami-Dade County.
St. Augustine

St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. It was established in 1565 by Spain. In the 2000 Census the population in this city was 11,592. The city is also the oldest continuously occupied European established city, and the oldest port, in the United States. St. Augustine is also where the Florida National Guard is located.
Everglades National Park

The Everglades National Park is located in southern Florida. The National Park protects the southern 25 percent of the original Everglades. The park is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. The park was created to protect a fragile ecosystem. The park covers 1,509,000 acres and was established on December 6, 1947.
Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida. The track was opened in 1959 and has a seating capacity of almost 168,000 people. Since it has opened it has been home to the biggest race in all of Nascar, the Daytona 500. The tracks hosts races of motor vehicles of various kinds, including go-karts, motorcycles, sports cars, modified pickup trucks, and stock cars.
Sun Life Stadium

Sun Life Stadium is the home to the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, Miami Hurricanes, and the annual Orange Bowl college football game. Since its construction the stadium has hosted five Super Bowls. The stadium opened in 1985. On January 18, 2010 the Dolphins signed a five-year deal with Sun Life Financial to rename the Dolphins Stadium Sun Life Stadium from the previous name Land Shark Stadium.
Florida State Flag

The Flag of the State of Florida consists of a red saltire on a white background with the seal of Florida on the center. This design was approved in 1900. The flag was the same until 1985 when the seal of florida was changed. The flag used to be just the seal with a white background.
John F. Kennedy Space Center

This picture is a picture from the Kennedy Space Center of the launch of the space shuttle Columbia. The Space Center is the U.S. government installation that manages and operates America's astronaut launch facilities. The center currently serves as the base for the country's three space shuttles.
Royal Poinciana tree

This is a picture of a Royal Poinciana tree in full bloom located in the Florida Keys. The tree may be used to make flowers and other decorations. The trees bright red, orange, or yellow flowers and bright foliage make it a very beautiful site when it is in full bloom.
Beach at Bahia Honda

This is a picture of a beach located in Bahia Honda State Park. The island is basically uninhabited. The state park has 524 acres and was founded in 1961. The park occupies most of the island. There is also a large amount of marine life around the island.

This is a picture of Miami, Florida. Miami is a major city located on the Atlantic coast in Southeastern Florida. Miami is were the Miami-Dade County is located. Miami is well known as a global city because of its importance in finance, commerce, culture, fashion, print media, entertainment, and the arts and international trade.
Port of Miami

The Port of Miami is a seaport located in Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida. It is connected to downtown Miami by Port Boulevard, a bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. The Port is located on Dodge Island. The Port is the world's largest cruise ship port, and it is the headquarters of many of the world's largest cruise companies.
Brickell Financial District

The Brickell Financial District located in Miami, contains the second-largest concentration of international banks in the U.S. Brickell is an urban neighborhood in Miami and lies south of the Miami River. The Brickell and downtown Miami neighborhoods are the fastest growing neighborhoods in Miami. Brickell has normally been known as a financial district, in recent years there has been construction of many condominiums and apartment towers in Brickell.
Florida International University

Florida International University is located in Miami, commonly known as FIU. The University is classified as a research University with high research activity by the Carnegie Foundation. The University was founded in 1965. FIU is the youngest university to be awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter by the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the country's oldest academic honor society. The University's endowment is 83 million dollars.
Florida State University

Florida State University is located in Tallahasse. The University is commonly known as Florida State or FSU. Florida State is a space-grant and sea-grant public university. It is a doctoral research university with medical programs and significant research activity, this was determined by the Carnegie Foundation. The University comprises 15 seperate colleges and 19 centers, facilities, labs, and institutes that offer more than 300 programs of study.
Amway Arena

The Amway Arena is located in Orlando, Florida. The arena is also the home to the Orlando Magic, the Orlando Predators, and the Orlando Titans. The Arena is an indoor arena that is part of the Orlando Centroplex, a sports and entertainment complex. The city of Orlando owns the Amway Arena and it is operated by Orlando Venues. The cost to the build the arena was 98 million dollars and it was opened in 1989.
American Airlines Arena

The American Airlines Arena is located in Miami, Florida along Biscayne Bay. and is the home of the Miami Heat. The American Airlines Arena is a sports and entertainment arena that was constructed for the replacement of the Miami Arena. The new Arena was opened in 1999. The construction of this arena cost 213 million dollars and it is owned by Miami Sports and Authority. Leisure Management International operates the Arena.
Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle is the icon of Magic Kingdom, located in the Walt Disney World Resort. The Resort is the largest and most visited recreational resort in the world. It contains four theme parks. The resort opened in 1971, with the Magic Kingdom theme park, and since then has added Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
Tropicana Field

Tropicana Field is a domed stadium and is located in St. Petersburg. It is home to the Tampa Bay Rays since 1998. It has also served as the host stadium for the St. Petersburg Bowl, and the College football bowl games. Since 2008 it is the only stadium in history to host full seasons of professional baseball, football, hockey, and arena football. The park opened in 1990 and the cost to make it was 130 million dollars. The stadium is owned by the City of St. Petersburg.
